We have several initiatives in place to enable us, as a school, to further reward and recognise our children’s outstanding behaviour and manners.
Attendance Awards
At the end of each school term, we celebrate those children who have achieved 100% attendance. These children are presented with a certificate of achievement and are invited to attend a celebration playtime during the last week of term.
Class Dojo Awards
Within each classroom, the Class Teachers use a system called ‘Class Dojo’ that enables them to very quickly reward or correct children for doing either the right or wrong thing. These could include reward points for effort or deepening learning opportunities, or, likewise, losing points for calling out or misbehaving, etc.
This system allows the Class Teacher and Head Teacher to monitor behaviour within each class and to reward those children who do the right thing, whilst, at the same time, implementing strategies for those who don’t. For more information on this, please speak to one of the Class Teachers.
Head Teachers Award
Each week, the Class Teachers choose a member of their class who they think has tried really hard throughout the week. They are given the Head Teacher’s award and cup.
End- of- year school awards
At Hurst Green Church of England Primary School, we take great pride in celebrating the successes of our children and promoting positive attitude and ethics. As such, at the end of year academic year, we have whole-
