Oak

Year 6

We are known as Oak Class.

Mrs Ivil is our class teacher and she is supported by Mrs Clease.

Like children all across the school, we are encouraged to take a responsible attitude to learning by assessing our own work and setting targets for ourselves. As the pupils at the top end of the school we are aware of the demands of the National Curriculum tests, which are taken in Year 6, and work with our teacher in monitoring our progress towards these tests.

Topics 2020-2021

Term 1 Where do I belong

Term 2 Fitness Fanatics

Term 3 China

Term 4 Smugglers

Viking Day

Oak class enjoyed a 'Viking Day' to celebrate their topic. They made batiq Viking art with a local artist, cooked a Scandinavian meal of meatballs, potato salad, pickled cucumber, gravy and saft as well as conducting their own absorbency science investigations....

Yeast experiment

Oak class conducted a Science experiment to find out which food yeast most likes to eat. We discovered that yeast likes sugar the best, as this test produced the most gas (carbon dioxide). We tested salt, sugar, coffee, rice and flour. We learnt that,...
