Home Learning

All home learning for children who are isolating or waiting for a Covid-19 test result is now set on Google Classrooms.  Please click on the image below to access.  If you are unable to log in please contact the school office.

Google Classroom is a set of education productivity tools from Google and our chosen cloud platform for both in school and remote learning.  Pupils will use their G Suite accounts to access Google Classroom – the online virtual classrooms that they are members of.  These classrooms will be used by teachers to share home learning resources and where pupils will complete and hand in their learning assignments.  By using this platform, our pupils will learn and develop 21st century digital citizenship skills.

Please see the documents below for further help and information.

Scholastic Learn at Home  – “Even when schools are closed, you can keep the learning going with these special cross curricular journeys. Every day includes four separate learning experiences, each built around a thrilling, meaningful story or video. Kids can do them on their own, with their families, or with their teachers. Just find your grade level and let the learning begin!”

Homework

Homework has a valuable part to play in developing and extending the work that has been undertaken in school. It can help to strengthen home-school links, giving parents and carers an opportunity to become involved with their child’s work. It can help to consolidate and reinforce skills and understanding and can extend school learning though activities such as additional reading. As children get older, the homework we set encourages the children to develop the self-discipline needed to study on their own and help prepare them for the requirements of secondary school.
