At Hurst Green Primary School and Nursery, we intend to build a Design Technology curriculum which develops learning and results in the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Children will know more, remember more and understand more.
We recognise the importance of Design and Technology as an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject. Using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. Pupils constantly explore their world through a variety of activities and it is vital for us to continue to extend this. Design and technology at Hurst Green is taught through a combination of D&T projects or themed work relating to our learning in class, for example, designing Roman catapults during our History topic on the Romans.
