Life Skills (PSHE and RSHE)

At Hurst Green C of E Primary School we believe that Relationships, Social, Health Education (RSHE) is an integral part of school life. It helps to give pupils the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives.

All pupils take part in a range of activities enabling them to work with others and recognise their own worth. They reflect on experiences and tackle many of the moral and social issues we see in school life. The pupils learn to understand and respect diversity and differences enabling them to form effective relationships with others.

We give pupils an understanding of the rights and responsibilities that are part of being an outstanding citizen.

Our school’s vision for RSHE is to provide a spiral RSHE curriculum that is age and stage appropriate in order to provide our pupils with the
knowledge and skills required to lead a safe and healthy life; form harmonious and trusting relationships;
be able to express feelings and opinions and to prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and
experiences of adult life.
